Keith Allen Harward, who has served 33 years of a life sentence, was convicted largely based on an expert’s testimony that bite marks on the victim matched his teeth. Now, the Innocence Project has filed a brief on his behalf asserting his innocence. Recent DNA testing revealed that Harward’s DNA did not match that of the assailant. The DNA test matched the assailant’s DNA with that of a career criminal, Jerry Crotty. Jerry Crotty passed away in prison in 2006.
