In 1997, Kirsten Hatfield was taken from her home in the middle of the night.  Blood was found on the window sill outside of her bedroom and her underwear was discovered in the backyard. Seventeen years later, it was discovered that some of the evidence had not undergone DNA testing. Police then obtained DNA samples from ten individuals suspected of taking Kirsten in 1997; the results revealed that Anthony Joseph Palma’s DNA matched the blood from the window sill. Palma has been arrested and charged with kidnapping as well as first-degree murder.
