Defendant Barry Whitton is charged with murdering his wife Michelle Whitton, whose body was found in a shallow grave in DeKalb County. Investigators discovered that there were missing pieces in the couple’s bedroom carpet that appeared to have been cut out. An experts testified that the carpet tested positive for human blood, but DNA testing did not produce any results. The expert also described the blood as being in a “drag pattern” on the carpet.
